The Eye of the Hummingbird

In meditation
Suspended in breath,
Motionless.
A hummingbird joins me
Framed at juncture
Of mountain and sea.

He looks at me,
beautiful eye
Silent and piercing.

The morning sun glances
brilliant colours.
Eye fixed, motionless form.
Engaging as one
Emergent being.
